Volunteer

The Delta Skating Club relies heavily on the help of our wonderful parent and skater volunteers for various events.  Parents and/or Skaters are required or encouraged to contribute a minimum number of hours each year based upon the program they participate in.  In order to qualify for a refund of the annual volunteer fee Parents and/or Skaters can refer to the list below for their required hours of volunteering.

PreCanSkate, CanSkate, PowerSkating – encouraged to volunteer
Junior Development  –  strongly encouraged to complete 4 hours
StarSkate – required to complete 8 hours
Synchronized Skating  – required to complete 4 hours

  • Assist Fundraising lead arrange fundraising events
  • Creating Flyers/Posters regarding fundraising events
  • Distributing flyer/posters to community regrading fundraising events
  • Canvas members to volunteer at fundraising events
  • Participate in fundraising events
  • Canvas local businesses for sponsorship or donations of services/products

  • Assist Events and Marketing lead to arrange club events (e.g. open house, Christmas party, etc.)
  • Creating Flyers/posters regarding club events
  • Maintain club social media
  • Write articles regarding club/skaters for publication (Delta Optimist, Thin Ice, etc.)
  • Distributing/posters flyers to community regarding club events
  • Canvas members to volunteer at fundraising events
  • Participate in events
  • Creating programs for Ice Show
  • Designing and maintaining communication boards at LLC, SDRC, Tilbury

  • Provide legal advice regarding contracts, bylaws, etc.
  • Counsel club on risk management

  • Provide guidance/assistance with completing tax submissions

  • Develop and maintain club presence/visibility on social media
